Dungeons & Dragons Workshops:

Introduction to D&D

Term 3, Group 2 - players aged 14-17

About AV's Introduction to D&D Workshops

If you have never played D&D before and you would like to get an introduction to D&D before signing up for a full-term program, our D&D Introduction Workshops are designed for you. Hosted by AV’s fantastic Dungeon Masters (DMs), who together have more than a century of experience facilitating D&D campaigns, the workshops run in pairs and are designed to help you to prepare to join a full term AV D&D program for the first time.

Who can join:

  • AV members and non-members

  • Players aged 10 and older

  • Players who have either never played D&D before, or who have played a maximum of two previous individual sessions.

Note: If you/your player has joined the AV D&D Program previously, please be aware that these workshops are not suitable for you, and you/your player are not eligible to join these workshops.

What will the workshops cover?

Workshop 1: introduction to D&D and gameplay essentials, as well as how to create a character.

Workshop 2: apply what you have learned in Workshop 1 in a one-session D&D game with guidance from your DM. Includes a Q&A session after the game to help you to prepare for your first AV D&D session.

Cost: $75 for AV members, $85 for non-members. This includes an additional hour in each session, for a total of 6 hours with your experienced DM and DMA team.

Registration includes access to both workshops in the series.

Become an AV member today to access discounted tickets for groups and events, other members-only programs, and to support all the wonderful work our volunteers and staff team do for our community.

If cost is a barrier, please contact Jenni.

When will the workshops take place for this group?

This workshop pair is for players aged 14-17 years.

TIME CHANGE: Each workshop in this pair runs for three hours.

Workshop 1: Thursday 25 August, 6.30pm to 9.30pm
