AspieLand Moderated Minecraft

Term 4 2021, Group 2

Wow! Our Term 4 AspieLand Moderated Minecraft program sold out for the first time, which is fantastic, and we're so grateful for the support and interest from our AV member community! Even more importantly, we've had such a strong response from our Minecraft players and so many requests for more spaces that we've opened a second group, running on Tuesdays and Thursdays!

About AspieLand

AspieLand has been developed and co-designed with our Aspie teens, and Aspergers Victoria families and in term 4 we're excited to welcome new and existing players back to the server! Our Minecraft Moderators are older teens from our Aspergers community we employ as peers to help guide and support participants to build, remind what behaviour is appropriate and most importantly, have fun! Made possible by the ongoing support of the Department of Education and Training, this term will have a huge 8 weeks of Minecraft including 15 two-hour sessions - that's 30 hours of Minecraft building time!

Available Sessions

Group 2 of our Term 4 program will run on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons in Term 4, starting on Tuesday 12 October. The last session is Thursday 2 December. (No session on Tuesday 2 November due to the Melbourne Cup Day public holiday.)

Cost

Our Term 4 AspieLand program is $247 for 15 x two-hour moderated sessions. That's just $8.25 per hour!

If cost is a barrier, please talk to Carla - gm@aspergersvic.org.au

Who can attend?

  • Children and teens aged 10-17 years
  • Beginners, intermediate and advanced players
  • Players who hold a current AV membership.
If you are not yet an AV member, sign up today to access this program and so much more, including our Minecraft September Holiday Program, our members-only D&D program, Teens Work Know How Program, and member discounts for all of our groups and events!

I have questions about AspieLand - who can I ask?

We've noticed that many families have similar questions about AspieLand, so we’ve put together two documents to help players and their families find answers quickly.

  • Our AspieLand Moderated Minecraft - FAQ includes answers to the most common questions we've received about the AspieLand programs, including what AspieLand is, the server and worlds, the registration process, contacting other players, NDIS, and others.
This also includes information about part-registrations, such as attending for one of the two session days, or registering after the start date. We encourage you to read through this before registering, as we're finding this covers the most common questions.
  • We also have our AspieLand Moderated Minecraft - Tech Support Guide, created by our moderators and admin team, which covers the steps for new players to connect for the first time, as well as suggestions for returning players to resolve potential tech issues.
  • We also encourage you and your player to read through the AspieLand Rules to get an idea of what builds and behaviour are appropriate for AspieLand to make sure everyone has a really enjoyable time on the server. This also gives your player some tips on how to contact moderators within the game if they need help or if they're new.

Who can I contact for help if I can't find the answer to my question?

If you can’t find the answer to your question, you’re most welcome to contact our admin team for assistance: please call or text 0480 385 710, or email admin@aspergersvic.org.au
