Southern & North-Eastern Group Meeting Update:

Now online via Zoom

This is an online peer support meeting open to all parents and carers of Aspergers / autistic children, teens or adults to meet, chat, exchange ideas and find support. We will have a special guest, meditation and yoga teacher Emma Cartwright, joining us. Through a gentle, guided meditation Emma will explore some breath and meditation techniques that you can use to help support your wellbeing on a daily basis. We will also have the opportunity for general discussion afterwards, offering you a safe place to download during lockdown.

Due to the current COVIDSafe restrictions on venue capacity and group size in place in the leadup to this event, the Group Leaders and the AV team have made the difficult decision to move the planned in-person meeting for this group to an online meeting via Zoom. As both the North-Eastern and Southern face-to-face meetings this month cannot go ahead, the Group Leaders have combined the two and are meeting a week later to allow everyone time to register. We understand that many within our community are very keen to return to in-person meetings, and we'll do our best to make this happen as soon as DHHS COVID restrictions and planning time allow this.

We have included more information below about Zoom and how to access the meeting. You are welcome to have your video and microphone on or off if you prefer, and you can also participate in the meeting via Zoom's text-based chat function.

All AV volunteer group leaders share the lived experience of their group participants and welcome new attendees. All AV group leaders have a Working with Children Check.

Do I need to register?

All attendees to AV's online and in-person groups and events must register before attending. For Zoom meetings, you need to register to access the Zoom details. For in-person meetings, registration is required due to DHHS COVID contact tracing and venue capacity limits.

Cost: $5 for AV members, $10 for non-members.
