Teens Hub: Pancake Parlour

About our Group

Our Teens group is for Aspergers, autistic and other similar neurodivergent teens to meet and hang out to play games or chat. At our online meetings, the Teens meet via Discord, and each Teen must be supervised by a parent or carer when accessing the Discord server.

We're finally meeting again in person at the Pancake Parlour in Malvern East! We have booked two areas within the restaurant. Please ask for the Aspergers Victoria group when you arrive.

The Teens Team:

  • Callan T, Callan B, Jack D, Sunny - Volunteer Mentors

  • Susan and Annalisa - Parent Group Leaders

The teens will be supervised in the party room by the Teens Mentors, and the parents and carers will be met by our Parents Group Leaders to chat and exchange experiences.

All AV volunteer group leaders share the lived experience of their group participants and welcome new attendees. All AV volunteers have a Working with Children Check.

Do I need to register?

All attendees to AV's online and in-person groups and events must register before attending. For Zoom meetings, you need to register to access the Zoom details. For in-person meetings, registration is required due to DHHS COVID contact tracing requirements. Spaces are limited to 20 teens for this event and you will need to register to secure your teen's space.

Each teen must be accompanied by one parent or carer.

Our booking is limited as this is a popular time for this venue. We understand that both parents may wish to come along, however the seated area allocated to our booking only has space for one parent/carer to attend per teen.

The parent or carer must remain on site for the duration of the event and is responsible for any costs incurred by their teen including food or beverage purchases.

How do I register my teen?

When you are completing the registration form, please enter the parent/carer's details as the primary attendee.
One of the questions further down in the form will ask you for the name and age of your teen. Another question will ask you for the name and contact details of the parent or carer who will be accompanying them.
If you have multiple teens attending from your family, please contact Jenni for assistance: admin@aspergersvic.org.au

Cost

$5 for members, $10 for non-members.

If you are attending an AV group for the first time, you are welcome to attend for free. Please email admin@aspergersvic.org.au to access this.

Please note: as Friday evening is a popular time for this venue, they have advised that there is a $20 minimum spend per person for our booking (per teen and per parent). This is in addition to the event registration fee and will need to be settled with the venue staff on the night.

If cost is a barrier, please contact Jenni: admin@aspergersvic.org.au

What can I expect when I attend an AV COVIDSafe event?

AV is closely following the COVID-19 requirements outlined by the Victorian Government and our in-person events have changed to comply with these.

Restrictions in Victoria have changed as of 19 November 2021, and we recommend reading this information sheet issued by the Victorian Government

It outlines the current DHHS requirements at venues for attendees, including checking in, vaccination, distancing, and masks.
