Cancelled: Partners Group - In-Person Meeting

Updated 17 August 2021: Meeting Cancelled due to COVID

Due to the changes in COVID restrictions for the Melbourne area announced in the leadup to this event, the scheduled in-person meeting has been cancelled.

We understand that many within our community are very keen to return to in-person meetings, and we'll do our best to make this happen as soon as DHHS COVID restrictions and planning time allow this.

The Partners Group have a scheduled online meeting taking place on Thursday 9 September. Registrations for the Zoom group meeting are now open via our website and our Group Leaders are looking forward to seeing you online.

About our Group

Join our Partners Peer Support Group to meet other adults who are or who have been in a relationship with someone who has Aspergers, is autistic, or has a similar neurodiverse profile. Sharing experiences within the safe environment of our peer support meetings can be a lifeline, and sharing with people who have similar lived experience is validating and often educational. Your partner may be self-diagnosed or have a formal diagnosis, and you may share a household or live separately. We are an inclusive group and welcome partners of all genders and relationship types.

This session is facilitated by our Partners group leaders: partners@aspergersvic.org.au.

All AV volunteer group leaders share the lived experience of their group participants and welcome new attendees.

Cost: $10 for members, $15 for non-members.

Become an AV member today to access discounted tickets for groups and events, members-only programs and interest groups, and to support all the wonderful work our volunteers and staff team do for our community.

If you are attending an AV group for the first time, you are welcome to register for free using our first-time attendee ticket. Please email admin@aspergersvic.org.au to access this.

If cost is a barrier, please contact Carla: gm@aspergersvic.org.au

You are welcome to arrive at the venue from 7pm for a 7.30pm start.

Do I need to register?

All attendees to AV's online and in-person groups and events must register before attending. For Zoom meetings, you need to register to access the Zoom details. For in-person meetings, all attendees need to register before attending due to DHHS COVID contact tracing requirements and venue capacity limits. As the venue capacity is reduced and spaces are limited, please register if you would like to attend to ensure you don't miss out.

What can I expect when I attend an AV COVIDSafe event?

AV is closely following DHHS COVID-19 requirements and our in-person events have changed to comply with these. The COVID-19 page on our website has the current AV COVIDSafe plan and we encourage you to read through this before attending in-person events at AV in 2021.

This includes important information about registrations, QR codes, refreshments, and what you need to bring with you.

Please be aware that DHHS restrictions on the day may not allow us to provide refreshments at this event. You are welcome to bring a water bottle and snack with you to enjoy, however these are not able to be shared. Please note that DHHS advice may change and we will do our best to communicate any changes in AV COVID-19 policy to our community.

If you have questions about registration, our COVIDSafe policy or would like more information, please contact Jenni (AV Admin): admin@aspergersvic.org.au
