North-East Parents & Carers Support Group

Our North-East Parents & Carers group is an in-person peer support meeting open to all parents & carers of Aspergers / autistic children, teens or adults. This group usually meets in the north-eastern suburbs of Melbourne. We are returning to in-person meetings for the first time since February 2020, and while things have changed a little due to COVIDSafe requirements, we will do our best to make the transition as smooth as possible for our community.

The session is facilitated by Rebecca, our North-East Parents & Carers Group Leader: All AV volunteer group leaders share the lived experience of their group participants and welcome new attendees. All AV group leaders have a Working with Children Check.

Cost: $10 for AV members, $15 for non-members. If you are attending for the first time and are not yet a member, you are welcome to attend your first session for free. Please contact for more information. If cost is a barrier, please contact Carla:

What can I expect when I attend an AV COVIDSafe event?
AV is closely following DHHS COVID-19 requirements and our in-person events have changed to comply with these. We encourage you to read our AV COVIDSafe Plan before you attend in-person events at AV in 2021. This includes important information about our QR code check-in system and what you need to bring with you to an event. As the venue capacity is reduced and spaces are limited, please register if you would like to attend to ensure you don't miss out.

Please note that due to DHHS COVIDSafe guidelines, there will be no refreshments provided by AV at this event. Participants are welcome to bring their own refreshments if they choose, however these must not be shared.

Please note that DHHS advice may change and we will do our best to communicate any changes in AV COVID-19 policy to our community.
