Southern Group Parents & Carers Peer Group

**Meeting Cancelled: Online Format Meeting alternative TBA**

This group is a place for Parents, Grandparents and Carers (of a person with Aspergers or High Functioning Autism) to meet, share their experiences and support each other. Meetings are now held at a new venue:  Hampton Community Centre.

We have a range of parents who attend, who have children of varying ages from toddlers through to young adults. The group is structured/facilitated to allow opportunity for all attendees to talk if they wish.

Belinda Jordan, from Glen Eira City Council will be attending our meeting.  Belinda recently started at Glen Eira as Project Officer in the Community Development and Care Team.  Her role is focused on carer supports and services, and as such, she is keen to connect with carers to find out more about their caring role and responsibilities, how caring impacts on their daily lives and relationships, and what are some of things carers do to take care of themselves. Better understanding of the needs, challenges and aspirations of carers will help Council plan for future carer supports and services.

Discussion Topic:

Discussion with: Guest Belinda Jordan, from Glen Eira City Council to find out more about our caring roles and responsibilities, how caring impacts on our daily lives and relationships, and what are some of things we do to take care of themselves.

Cost:  $5 AV Members, or $10 for Non-Members. Please pay on registration as payment on the night puts unnecessary stress and overhead on our volunteers.

Attendance varies from month to month, and it's great to talk to others who have been through similar challenges.

Please review the following DHS Corona Disease flyer (pdf) prior to registering your attendance.

Getting There:  Enter via the front door. By car: There is parking in the car park at the back of the community centre as well as in surrounding streets.  By Public Transport:  Hampton Station (Sandringham Line) is very close and there is also a bus service that stops nearby.
