Teens Meetup: Drumming Workshop & Board Games

****New Night & New Venue...1st Friday of the Month****

Come and have ‘Buckets of Fun’ at Batesford Hub, Chadstone.  Based on the New York Street Drumming phenomenon, ‘Ronen Shoshan will take you on a fun filled journey of drumming and rapping.  Ronen will introduce you to a unique style of drumming that combines North African, Middle Eastern and Spanish rhythms.  Once you are warmed up Ronen will then help you to discover your inner rapper by exploring, writing and rapping beats!

This is a ‘taster’  and for those who have got the beat, AV will be creating a drumming/rapping group on a regular basis. Ronen has conducted this workshop for Autistic children of all ages.  Check out Bucketsoffun.com.au and  Rhythforlife.com.au to see Ronen in action.

The ‘Buckets of Fun’ experience will be held in a very large room where people can spread out and there will also be a quiet room where people can just chill out as required.  Just in case, you may want to bring your own noise-cancelling headphones.

Ronen will provide the ‘Buckets of Fun’ experience for about 1 hour and then teens can either continue on with their drumming and rapping creation or just chill out and play some board games.

Meet our Aspie mentors who love to make everyone feel welcome and part of the group and are always up for a chat. This is a popular group where you can meet new friends and catch up with old buddies, enjoy an environment with no social pressure and have an enjoyable night out. Looking forward to seeing you there!

Parents can enjoy the company of the other parents in a nearby area.

Cost:  $15 for AV Member, $25 Non-Members  includes refreshments.  Please pay prior to attending with your registration. Email admin@aspergersvic.org.au if you need assistance to do this. No cash on the night please!

Aspergers Victoria volunteers with lived experience run all meetings. All group leaders have a Working With Children Check.  Refer to our Groups page for more information. Our Teen group peer leaders are very encouraging and welcoming with their peers. Please introduce any new teens to our Leaders on the night.

This group is for Aspergers Victoria members. If you are not a member you can come try the group and then join Aspergers Victoria at https://aspergersvic.org.au/join-us
