About the AV Introduction to D&D Workshops
If you have never played D&D before and you would like to get an introduction to D&D before signing up for a full-term program, our D&D Introduction Workshops are designed for you. Hosted by AV’s fantastic Dungeon Masters, who together have more than a century of experience facilitating D&D campaigns, the workshops run in pairs and are designed to help you to prepare to join a full term AV D&D program for the first time.
Who can join?

Players aged 10+

Players who have either never played D&D before, or who have played a few sessions.
What will be covered?
Workshop 1:
The Players tool kit; The social contract, What is role playing, Why a failed roll is still good, How to work as a party.
The DM's tool kit; 5 styles of player, System mechanics and what they are for, How system drive play, The 7 plots.
Building better worlds; Write what you need, Recycling, NPC that are remembered, Villains, Laying out a plotline.
Workshop 2:
Quickly making some sample characters.
A short game to put things into practice.
Cost: $76
Registration includes access to both workshops in the series.

Workshop 1: Monday 13 January, 5.30pm to 8.30pm
Workshop 2: Wednesday 15 January, 5.30pm to 8.30pm
