Adults Hub: in-person meeting
Social Night & Barbecue
About the Adults Group
Our Adults Group is for older members of the Aspergers autistic community and those with other similar neurodivergent profiles. It is more suitable for those who are aged 35 years and over, although younger adults are welcome to join in. (Young adults may prefer to attend our Young Adults group meetings as well as or instead of this group.)
As this is a parent/carer-free zone, we invite any parents or carers to join our separate Parents & Carers Group.
This month, we are having a social night at Power Neighbourhood House, with a barbecue. After the barbecue, we will be having an "interests and hobbies discussion", and we invite group attendees to bring something to show or discuss with the group related to an interest or hobby.
We will run the barbecue from approximately 6:30pm until 8pm, then we will chat about our groups' various interests and hobbies until approximately 9:30pm.
About our Group Leaders
This session is facilitated by the Adults Group Leader, Colin. All AV volunteer group leaders share the lived experience of their group participants and welcome new attendees. All AV group leaders have a Working with Children Check.
Cost: $15 for AV members, $20 for non-members, $5 for holders of a +Groups Membership and first-time attendees (to cover catering).
Become an AV member today to access discounted tickets for groups and events, other members-only programs, and to support the wonderful work our volunteers and staff team do for our community.
If you are registering to attend an AV group for the first time, you are welcome to use our first-time attendee ticket so our group facilitators know you're new and can introduce you to the group. Please email our AV admin team to access this.
If cost is a barrier, please contact Jenni.
