Transitioning Back:
How to manage anxiety as we return to life after COVID-19 lockdowns
Melbourne has been through the world's longest lockdown. The transition back to school, work and other pre-COVID-19 activities is eagerly awaited for some, however for many in our community, this will be a challenging time, particularly for Aspergers autistics. It can be overwhelming navigating a return to the classroom or office, public transport, meeting people face to face, having daily social interactions, a more flexible timetable, more independence and responsibility.
Following the success of last year's "Anxiety and Pathological Demand Avoidance in Autism" event, Raelene Dundon from Okey Dokey Childhood Therapy will come back to discuss the different types of anxiety that our community might experience, and share advice and strategies to make the transition back into school, work and the community in general a more positive and successful experience.
