Young Adults Hub
Group Meeting Update: Now online via Zoom
Updated Friday 18 June: Moved to Zoom
Due to the current COVIDSafe restrictions on venue capacity and group size in place in the leadup to this event, the Group Leaders and the AV team have made the difficult decision to move the planned in-person meeting for this group to an online meeting via Zoom. This will take place at the same time as the planned in-person meeting. We understand that many within our community are very keen to return to in-person meetings, and we'll do our best to make this happen as soon as DHHS COVID restrictions and planning time allow this.
We have included more information below about Zoom and how to access the meeting. You are welcome to have your video and microphone on or off if you prefer, and you can also participate in the meeting via Zoom's text-based chat function.
Our Group
Our Young Adults group is a great place for Aspergers, autistic and other similar neurodivergent profiles adults aged 18 years - 35 years (approx.) to meet, chat, and play games with no social pressure. As this is a parent/carer-free zone, we invite any parents or carers to attend our separate Parents & Carers group.
The session is facilitated by the Young Adult team:
- Matt, Cal, Sunny, Eleanor & Tim - YA Mentors
- Lyndel Kennedy - Young Adults Co-Facilitator
All AV volunteer group leaders share the lived experience of their group participants and welcome new attendees. All AV group leaders have a Working with Children Check.
Do I need to register?
All attendees to AV's online and in-person groups and events must register before attending. For Zoom meetings, you need to register to access the Zoom details. For in-person meetings, registration is required due to DHHS COVID contact tracing and venue capacity limits.
Cost: $5 for AV members, $10 for non-members.
Become an AV member today to access discounted tickets for groups and events, other members-only programs, and to support all the wonderful work our volunteers and staff team do for our community.
If you are attending an AV group for the first time, you are welcome to register for free using our first-time attendee ticket. Please email admin@aspergersvic.org.au to access this.
If cost is a barrier, please contact Carla: gm@aspergersvic.org.au
