Partners Group, In-person meeting:
Guest speaker - Margaret Hall (psychologist)

Join our Partners Peer Support Group to meet other adults who are or who have been in a relationship with someone who has Aspergers, is autistic, or has a similar neurodiverse profile. Sharing experiences within the safe environment of our peer support meetings can be a lifeline, and sharing with people who have similar lived experience is validating and often educational. Your partner may be self-diagnosed or have a formal diagnosis, and you may share a household or live separately. We are an inclusive group and welcome partners of all genders and relationship types.

This month, we are excited to welcome Margaret Hall, a registered couples therapist / psychologist who will be speaking about the challenges that Aspergers autistic people face in daily life and within a marriage or relationship. Margaret will also speak about the challenges of being in a marriage or relationship with a person with Aspergers, autism or another similar neurodiverse profile.

This session is facilitated by our Partners group leaders: partners@aspergersvic.org.au. All AV volunteer group leaders share the lived experience of their group participants and welcome new attendees.

What can I expect when I attend an AV COVIDSafe event?
AV is closely following DHHS COVID-19 requirements and our in-person events have changed to comply with these. We encourage you to read our AV COVIDSafe policy before you attend in-person events at AV in 2021. This includes important information about our QR code check-in system and what you need to bring with you to an event. As the venue capacity is reduced and spaces are limited, please register if you would like to attend to ensure you don't miss out.

Please note that due to DHHS COVIDSafe guidelines, there will be no refreshments provided by AV at this event. Participants are welcome to bring their own refreshments if they choose, however these must not be shared.

Please note that DHHS advice may change and we will do our best to communicate any changes in AV COVID-19 policy to our community.
