The Board sets strategic direction and policy and helps to manage the day-to-day operations of AV. The role requires attending and providing secretarial support at approximately 12 board meetings and serving on at least one board sub-committee per year and has responsibility for ensuring AV’s compliance with the Charities Act and communicates on Av’s behalf with ATO, ACNC and CAV.

This position is not time onerous with new technology/systems already in place. Duties will include: monthly and annual financial reporting to the Board, coordinating and delivering the annual budget, arranging Internet banking payments and bank signatories. The Treasurer also maintains our financial record systems (MYOB, Excel, Google Docs), supervises the bookkeeping assistant, and co-ordinates with the ‘auditor’ volunteer for annual review. You need financial and technology basics and a can-do attitude.

AV is implementing an Aspergers Recruitment Network that aims to support those with Aspergers by fostering Asperger friendly and supportive workplaces and recruitment practices.  We have a sub committee that is managing this implementation. If you have any skills or experience in employment support services your help would be of value.

These roles will keep you at the forefront of information about Aspergers. If you have computer, organisational, and editing/proofreading skills, we need you! We are currently revising our systems and need support in the following areas:

  • Maintain the organisation’s website, and Facebook and other social media platforms

  • Production and despatch of newsletters, and

  • Management of the CRM system.

We need someone to oversee  our online information about AV and Aspergers and ensuring that information is up to date and relevant. You will work with the Website Editor / Social Media Editor to ensure our website and social media platforms continues to be of value to our members.

Would you like to help oversee our events? We need volunteer helpers on our Events Sub-committee to plan and organise AV events including key topics, new locations and venues.

Do you have event experience or ideas for events we could host for our community and basic IT and organisation skills? Please email events@aspergersvic.org.au if you are interested.

We have lots of small projects you can help us with – if you can help in any way we can possibly make a role to suit – we are flexible. Just let us know your skills and what you would like to do and we will try to find you a role!
