The links below take you to pages containing the contact details of professionals who have become known to our members as being familiar with Asperger Syndrome. We must stress that inclusion on these pages does not constitute a recommendation from Aspergers Victoria, nor endorsement of the individuals or organisations concerned.
Before you go to see a professional it is a good idea to call their rooms and find out if they diagnose adults or children only. It is also a good idea to speak to the professional and ask about the cost of the assessment / diagnosis, if any rebates are available, as well as any questions you might have before booking a first visit. You may also need a referral from a GP. Choosing the professional best suited to your needs can often be decided on the interaction you have with him/her over the phone, a sort of "gut feeling" which might indicate you want to work with this person.
Amaze have also produced a useful list of Questions to Ask Service Providers that you might like to check.
This list is compiled to assist you in locating a professional to meet your needs and is created by volunteer best efforts. For any amendments, additions or corrections, please send an email to our Website Co-ordinator.
If you are a professional working with clients with Asperger Syndrome and you would like to be added to our list or update your details, please send an email to our Website Co-ordinator.
